no, not spring. it's not officially spring until i see a redwinged blackbird (yesterday) the campus preachers return!
it's HOCKEY PLAYOFFS TIME.....and your line up is....
WESTERN CONFERENCE
detroit v. edmonton
dallas v. colorado
calgary v. anaheim
nashville v. san jose
my picks: edmonton, colorado, calgary, san jose.
EASTERN CONFERENCE
ottawa v. tampa
carolina v. montreal
new jersey v. ny rangers
buffalo v. philadelphia
my picks: ottawa, carolina, new jersey, buffalo
i pause here to note the criminal lack of coverage for the first round in the states. you canadian folks get CBC and TSN. OLN and NBC are covering parts of the first round. but this is nowhere near years past where tanrinia would stay up until the wee small hours of the morning after she sat down at 7 to watch 2 early games that would bleed over into 1-2 late games.
so a hearty F-U to ESPN.
long time readers will recall the basis for my picks has nothing to do with normal sports logic...
1. always root for blue jackets. we aren't IN the play offs (despite a really good end of the season...that first bit where 8 of our 20 starts were injured truly fucked us...but i anticipate good things for next year, should no one get hurt... )
yes i'm a homer...and proud of it!
2. if no blue jackets, root for colorado, pittsburgh, dallas.
3. if none of the above, root for canadian team.
4. if none of the above, root for team that has home where there is actually naturally occurring ice.
5. never ever EVER root for detroit, philadelphia, rangers, or nashville.
