yes, you read that right...don't fall over,
chronarchy and
romandruid :)
well, now that i have my altar set up, no sense in not using it, eh? no i don't have pictures. i'll put this behind the cut, for those who could care less...
Light candle...still need to find well and tree (although i just realized i have oak leaves w/acorns on them i found at summerset...) i have a well, it's just in the Room of Doom...
Tuesday evening -- deity is Nuada -- cinnamon incense -- tibetan chants
Nine breaths meditation SUCCESSFULLY :) Really felt the head cauldron abuzz...cool. Feel energy from hands making 3 pillars. Even though i stop to write periodically, i find myself getting right back into it.
visualizing Nuada. At first he looks very much like a king in a deck of cards (actually, no, at first he looks like the scary burger king). His features shift and change. He has dark hair, dark eyes, dark beard. All about him is dark. He wears (eventually...it changes as well) a simple bronze-ish crown. He eyes me warily, arms folded. At first I do not notice his silver arm, as it appears to have darkened, but as i look at it, it appears shiny underneath the age, if that makes sense...almost like slightly dull hematite?
i feel like he looks at me in judgement, and i am uncomfortable. maybe he is not used to being honored in this way? i do my usual shpiel "i give thanks for the day, and ask your blessings, protection, and wisdom for the night. i ask for good decisions in B's and mom-in-law's court cases, the best decision for all those involved. i ask him what message he has for me. it seems he smiles a bit -- he knows i'm writing this down, and i'll probably share it with others. i begin to shuffle the celtic tree cards (the ones by nigel pennick and nigel jackson, not the newer ones. the ogham definitions in these seem to match up with other sources, unlike the newer one). i shuffle for a *long* while...then a card leaps out:
coll hazel
pennick&jackson: understanding, inspiration
thorsson: creativity
(and just for fun, P&J show it with four points UP, thorsson shows it with four points DOWN. great.)
i visualize nuada holding up his sword. he invites me to watch as he slices into the air. where he has sliced, there is an opening. i step thru, and i am in the card. i stand at the pond. i see salmon jumping. the crane (!) stands on the banks near the hazel tree. it is sunny, and there is a breeze. Fionn mac Cumhail offers me water from the spring. i drink, opening myself up to the wisdom therein. i make up some mantra or 'affirmation' that i say 9 times, but i don't remember now. i thank everyone, and come back to myself.
