as this is only for archival purposes (i could swear i wrote it in when i first got the damn journal, but that was pre-tags and i don't feel like wading thru tagless entries).
so, here is my morning/evening thing. i've been encouraged on some CR lists i am on that this fits in with that system, and i already know it works for asatru. yay :) i'll put it behind a cut for those what couldn't care less...
note: sometimes i say more, some times i say less....sometimes it is silent, sometimes outloud, sometimes whispered.
1. nine breaths.
2. say: "the sky stretches above me; the land extends about me; the sea surrounds and supports me."
3. light candles "i kindle the sacred fire in wisdom, love, and power. Sacred Fire burn within me."
4. put water in bowl "In the depths flow the waters of wisdom. Sacred Well flow within me."
5. visualizes the world tree. "From the depths to the heights spans the world tree. Sacred Tree grow within me."
6. "The fire, the well, the sacred tree/
Flame and flow and grow in me/
Thus is my sacred grove claimed and hallowed.
So be it (german in the a.m./irish in the p.m.)
by the cleansing of water and fire, let all ill turn away from me and mine./
So be it (again, german/irish)
7. Honor the earf mother. I have a piece of granite that i touch and/or kiss as i say nifty things about how great Nerthus (morning)/Tara (evening) is.
8. open the gates. i invoke Heimdall/Manannan mac Lir and draw a circle with my hand in the air, and then 2 lines (druid's sigil) i then put my hands together in prayer-like fashion and pull them apart, declaring the gates be open.
kindred and rite patrons: they all get thanks, and also requests either specific (which are nunya bidness!) or just for blessings, protection, and wisdom.
9. offerings to landvaettir and housevaettir/sidhe (anyone have idea what house spirits are called?). they get lavender flowers, currently.
10. offerings to alfar and disir/ancestors (i have the irish for this...somewhere...i'll add it later). right now they get tobacco, which is appropriate since most of them died from the side effects.
11. offerings to aesir and vanir/tuatha de danann. right now cornmeal.
12. offering to patron du jour...detailed here: http://www.livejournal.com/users/tanrinia/41156.html, albeit with some tweakage. sunday is now eostre/bridhe; there is no mani on monday, or loki on wednesday, or manannan mac lir on friday, as he gets it every day....(hehehehe). offering is usually incense.
13. Omen. runes/ogham. if there is time i will meditate on the rune, the deity-du-jour and anything else that happens. this happens more often in the evening, though.
14. anything else as needed. i have an affirmation which is horribly new agey but appears to be absolutely essential to my functioning, as when i skip it i tend to spend all day on LJ and updating my fantasy hockey league (yes, i skipped it today). there may be other things as well.
15. thank the deity-du-jour, shining ones, noble ones, mighty ones. draw sigil again, and close the gates with hands (i tend to visualize my hands controlling the 2 lines of the sigil to open and close). thank gatekeeper and earf mother.
